The Orange Color Run is a 2-mile, untimed race in which participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at various points along the route. The idea is simple: wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in color.

Dear All the Members of Pioneer Nation,

It is with heavy heart that I must tender my resignation at President of OOAB effective immediately. As you may or may not know by now, I have been offered and have accepted, the open Olentangy Local School District (OLSD) Board of Education (BOE) seat recently vacated by Stacy Dunbar.

I did not take this change lightly and wrestled over the decision. In the end however, it is time to invest my time, passion and energy to our all of our OLSD students, parents and community. I believe I can continue to make a difference and compliment the foundation we have all worked so hard to build here in our community. I will continue to be available to advise, provide my volunteer support and be available as an ambassador for OOAB.

It has been a fast, fun and exciting 8 years with OOAB and I have loved every minute of it. Keep up the good work in my absence and I will look forward to continuing to see, work with and support all of you. Your volunteer spirit, your drive and unwavering support of our student athletes are truly at the core of our community. We have all been successful because we all worked as a team. I have always teased about, and with acknowledgement to Dan Kaiser, that this job has always "Been for the children"; and it has been.

I also want to acknowledge our good, good friends at Pop Arts. Our two organizations have done what none of our sister schools have been able to do. We have truly developed a seamless partnership aimed at making our school a great place to be for the students. I want to thank from the bottom of my heart the Pop Arts Board, Mr. Z, the staff and all the parents who support the performing arts.
Thank you all again for this tremendous opportunity you provided me to serve. I am grateful for all you have and will continue to do.

Go Pioneers!

Roger Bartz

Once again the Olentangy Orange Athletic Boosters (OOAB) Booster Drive Night is fast approaching on Monday evening, August 4.

We ‘Thank You’ for your efforts in the past but we need everyone’s help this year to gather your sports' student athlete volunteers and parent volunteers for this year’s drive.

We need your help as the Coaches and liaisons to help supply student athletes and 80-90 parent volunteers to drive these groups out to the neighborhoods and 10-15 more parents to help with registrations, count money etc. In looking over the numbers, which is about 1/3 of each of each and every one of your teams and parents to make this a success.

This is a huge undertaking and we really need the commitment of all sports to make it a success. We want to make this the best year yet, and to do so; we will need your student athlete’s participation, parents’ participation and especially the Coaches participation.

Volunteer drivers will need to bring their drivers license and proof of insurance to be able to drive. Due to Insurance Liability issues no Orange students will be allowed to drive routes and work in the neighborhoods without a parent driver along.

As a reward for the hard work, we will have Tarantos Pizza after this year’s drive as an added incentive to our student and adult volunteers!!!

JIM AUGUR: 1962 - 2014

Folks, by now many of you have heard and it is with heavy heart that I must share with you the passing of one of our former OOAB Presidents, Jim Augur.

Jim was a great guy, avid supporter of our student athletes and a good family man. Please join me in providing your thoughts and prayers to Jim's wife Kandi and his daughters. I am deeply saddened by his passing, and he will be missed.

Jim was instrumental in helping support the development of our current cash management, capital support and restricted sports accounts policies. He put a great deal of his passion for athletics into building a strong foundation for what we enjoy today at OOAB.

President, OOAB
