2011 OLENTANGY ORANGE BOYS VARSITY GOLF TEAM
HAS BEST SEASON IN SCHOOL HISTORY
Completes Season with Most Wins and Individual District Qualifier

The 2011 Olentangy Orange Boys Varsity Golf Team - led by two upper classmen John M. and John J. - defeated more than 100 teams in Division I golf for the first time in the high school's history. Another primary achievement was John M. becoming the first Olentangy Orange individual golfer to qualify for the District Golf Tournament (Division I) after shooting 77 at the Sectional Tournament at Darby Creek Golf Course.

The Boys Varsity Golf team had a season-long record of 102-88 during the season's invitational, Ohio Capital Conference (OCC), and central Ohio golf tournaments during the 2011 campaign. Boys golf coach Mark Corica said, "This was a really fun group of young men to coach this year, as they really rooted each other on, enjoyed the Division I level competition, and pulled together to beat more golf teams than any other varsity golf team in Orange history."

Coach Corica added, "We have a nice foundation for the 2012 season led by a four-year varsity level player in John M., a nicely improved player in Ray A., and a host of new young players moving up through the ranks on the Junior Varsity golf team."
